With the housing market on the skids, Nashville builder Turnberry Homes is setting its sights on a proven gold mine: Brentwood.
Turnberry is planning a $50 million development on 85 acres of rolling hills along Split Log Road — one of the last large tracts of developable land in Brentwood.
The builder bought the land a year ago for $4 million. The proposed Sonoma neighborhood will have 66 homes, built over three years and priced between $700,000 and $800,000. The development has hilltop home sites where the first buyers have already claimed prime views.
“It’s no secret the market is weaker. Good locations are the ones that sell,” says Ron Benkert, chief operating officer of Turnberry Homes.
